You have any questions

Some of the most frequently asked questions by patients about liposuction. If You have another question, please contact us.

1. Do not take aspirin or products containing acetylsalicylic acid two weeks before and after the procedure: aspirin worsens blood clotting and may increase bleeding during the procedure and during the post-operative period. 2. Do not take supplements containing vitamin E and A, ginger, ginkgo biloba, garlic and/or ginseng as they may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. 3. Discontinue estrogen use: oral contraception and replacement hormonal therapy three weeks before and two weeks after surgery. 4. Do not drink alcohol for 5 days before the procedure, as alcohol may increase the risk of side effects (swelling, bruising). 5. Try not to smoke or reduce the amount of cigarettes 6. If you have a fever, sore throat or runny nose before surgery, ALWAYS inform your doctor. 7. Wash the body with an anti-bacterial agent the day before the procedure. Moreover, all patients should absolutely shave the area to be treated. 8. On the day of the procedure, put on loose dark clothing: a buttoned sweatshirt, sweat pants, and slip-on shoes. Remember that the dressings are put on after the procedure, we suggest that you put covers on the seats in the car. 9. Leave all valuable items at home. 10. On the day of the treatment do not use lotion on the body or face, come to us without make-up and remember that your nails should NOT be painted. If the nails are covered with acrylic or gel, the color should be light. 11. Given treatment times are estimated, remember that you can stay in the center longer than planned. 12. Remember that after the surgery you must not drive motor vehicles. Remember to organize a driver after the procedure. 13. On the day of surgery, due to the anesthesia to which you will be subjected, stay 6 hours before the procedure without any food and without drinking. Do not eat candy nor chew gum.

Liposuction in the assumption is a one-time operation and the result is permanent. This is due to the fact that fat tissue does not regenerate, because fat cells do not have the ability to multiply (except for exceptional cases). Therefore, if we remove any fat tissue from a part of the body by cutting or sucking it away, the tissue will never grow back at this point. However, it is important to remember that liposuction is not a slimming method. Liposuction is a procedure that eliminates locally accumulated fat, which is used to model the body.

In principle, on the next day after the procedure you can return to all activities. It is not recommended to lie down after surgery, this procedure does not require a special recovery period. After the procedure, the patient experiences discomfort rather than the pain of the area that was treated during the first period of about 7 days. There are patients who require painkillers. After the treatment, bruising of the treated areas may occur and it disappears, just like normal bruises, after max. 2 weeks depending on what type of work we do and what kind of liposuction was made. If, after the procedure, the doctor puts on the drains, they are removed 3-4 days after the procedure. There are patients who return to work two days after the surgery, because everything depends on how the patient feels after the procedure.

Immediately after the surgery, we see a fundamental, often huge, difference. In the following days and weeks, the visual effect is reduced by increasing swelling. Reduction of edema, rebuilding and regeneration of tissues in the operated areas and shrinking of the skin takes up to 12 months. It is assumed, however, that the aesthetic effect after liposuction occurs after 6-8 months after the procedure.

During the first 2-3 days after the procedure, excessive physical activity should be avoided. It is normal to be dizzy, especially when getting up and when changing the dressings. You have to remember to always have someone to help during these activities for the first few days after the procedure. Do not overwork yourself, but try to get back to normal activity during the first week after the procedure. The ocurrence of excessive edema and discomfort may indicate overload. You have to give up physical exercises for 2-3 weeks. We protect the operated area from sunlight, using an SPV filter of 30 or more, for 2-3 weeks during the period of bruising.

Try to keep the dressings as clean and dry as possible. Change them every day and when they soak up to prevent infection. Avoid overheating the operated areas. One should expect a fairly intense drainage, i.e. the outflow of a bloody liquid with anesthetic from the points of incision. Although the liquid may be red, it usually contains about 1% of blood. The more fluid outflow, the smaller the swelling. We recommend placing impermeable material on the bed and in other places (eg a car). When the liquid stops leaking, we recommend washing the incision areas with water with an antibacterial agent and applying a clean dressing. When the wounds completely heal, we recommend using oils (eg Vaseline). Burning, itching, pain, hardness, numbness are normal symptoms and should resolve within a month, although they can last much longer.

Safety first. We try to plan the treatment so that during one operation do not exceed 5-6 liters of sucked fat.

These are several millimeter incisions which after a few months are almost invisible. If someone has a tendency to form keloids, they must assume that the scars will be more visible.

Depending on the operated area, the entire procedure (from entry to exit) takes from 2 to 5 hours. It is not always possible to predict how much time a particular procedure will take and how quickly the patient will recover after the procedure and additionally after anesthesia.

Swelling, bruising, hematomas that go away within a week.

The following tests must be carried out: Blood tests: Morphology, Coagulogram (INR), Liver tests (ASPAT, ALAT), Lipidogram, Glucose, Ionogram (Na, K), Urea, Creatinine, Breast ultrasound (applies to women in the case of fat graft, applies to men in the case of gynecomastia removal surgery) ECG test: every patient after the age of 50

In our clinic, liposuction is performed under local anesthesia and with anaesthesiologist’s assistance. This method is known as intravenous anesthesia (sedation and analgesia). It is not a general anesthesia, but thanks to this the patient is calm, sleeps during the procedure and does not feel pain. After the procedure, patients rest in the patient's room as much as they need, usually for several hours. After the procedure, patients leave our Clinic.

The effect of liposuction largely depends on the post procedure period and patients compliance. During the convalescence period, it is recommended to wear special compression clothing for 4-6 weeks. Thanks to the appropriate compression, it speeds up the process of convalescence after liposuction, minimizes the formation of postoperative edema and bruising. Sometimes, after a period of 3 weeks, it is good to change the size of the clothing into a smaller one. You should wear this clothing constantly (day and night) for 2-3 weeks after surgery, later you can take it off for the night.

After each liposuction during the healing and regeneration process there is a phenomenon of skin shrinking lasting up to several months. The degree of this shrinkage depends on many factors, such as: age, amount of sucked fat, density and firmness of the skin before the procedure, stretch marks etc. Skin shrinkage can be improved by deciding on methods such as UAL-VASER, RF and Laser liposuction, which most strongly stimulate the skin. Moreover, after the treatment, you should wear special compression clothing and apply treatments that cause additional skin shrinkage such as: massages, pressotherapy, carboxytherapy, RF, cold laser HiFU, etc.

We distinguish two phases of postoperative swelling: Immediately after the procedure: Skin tension, pain, redness may occur from the treatment up to about a week. 2nd phase after the procedure: Swelling, hyperalgesia or superficial sensation disorders that may last up to several months, therefore we recommend lymphatic massages or other liposuction treatments.

It all depends on how large is the area to undergo surgery and how much fat we expect to remove, but it seems reasonable not to exceed 3 areas during one treatment.

Yes, in our clinic we perform treatments using patient’s own fat to enlarge the breasts, buttocks, labia and transplant it into various areas around the face. We use the acquired adipose tissue for the treatment of post-traumatic / postoperative scars and in orthopedics and aesthetics.

3 months is the minimum, but everything depends on the patient's well-being and the size of the area undergoing surgery.

We recommend that the patient stay in Poland for 3-4 days. On the first day after the procedure the patient comes to control and change the dressing. On the second or third day the drains are removed and the patient leaves the clinic after the check.

If the procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is on a small area, the patient does not require the help of another person. However, if the treatment is in sedation, it is recommended that the patient after the surgery is taken away by a family member or another person, because they cannot drive motor vehicles themselves while being under the influence of medications. Additionally, it would be best if a family member or other adult stayed with the patient for the next 24-48 hours.

In order to qualify for the surgery, it is necessary to consult a doctor, of course, there is the possibility of initial consultation by email or by Skype. For this purpose, please send a photo of the area to our e-mail address so that the doctor can become acquainted with them and pre-qualify the patient for the procedure. When it comes to Skype consultation, you must send a nickname in the email and the date of consultation with the doctor will be set.

In our work, we are guided primarily by the good of patients and the desire to improve their quality of life.
